Erste Ausgabe. – Arndt (1870-1942) folgte 1901 einem Ruf an die Akademie für Sozial- und Handelswissenschaften in Frankfurt am Main, die 1914 in die neugegründete Universität integriert wurde. 1935 wurde Arndt, der eine liberale Haltung zur Wirtschafts- und Handelspolitik vertrat, emeritiert.
